Munich, January 10, 2018 - As per April 1, 2018 Dr. Rainer Spatscheck changes from well-known tax law firm Streck Mack Schwedhelm to Kantenwein Zimmermann Fox Kröck & Partner in Munich. Dr. Spatscheck joins the Kantenwein team as a name partner, which will then be named Kantenwein Zimmermann Spatscheck & Partner.
Dr. Spatscheck is a nationally leading specialist for tax criminal law, white collar crime and tax litigation. He is qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) and specialized lawyer for tax law as well as criminal law (Fachanwalt für Steuerrecht, Fachanwalt für Strafrecht). Dr. Spatscheck also serves as a judge with the Lawyers’ Professional Court (Anwaltsgerichtshof) and chairman of the Criminal Law Committee of the German Lawyers‘ Association (Vorsitzender des Gesetzgebungsausschusses Strafrecht des Deutschen Anwaltvereins). In addition, he is a visiting lecturer (Lehrbeauftragter) for tax criminal law at the University of Augsburg. Dr. Spatscheck further regularly publishes academic contributions in magazines and monographs.
For 20 years he has been a partner with Streck Mack Schwedhelm and has established their Munich office in 2002. Over the years this office has had a remarkably positive development while it was solely focused on the persona of Dr. Spatscheck. Against this background, Dr. Spatscheck has now decided to join the Munich firm of Kantenwein Zimmermann Fox Kröck & Partner which is particularly renowned in the areas of tax law and commercial dispute resolution. With regard to the current activities of the Kantenwein team there is a significant number of synergies with Dr. Spatscheck’s areas of expertise. Via these synergies the new unit will be capable of offering an even more attractive portfolio of commercial advice to its clients, especially including a one stop shop for criminal law and compliance advice. As Dr. Spatscheck‘s change is not to be interpreted as a decision against Streck Mack Schwedhelm but as a decision in favor of Kantenwein, both firms will cooperate in the future in suitable constellations.
Dr. Thomas Kantenwein: „We are extremely happy that in Dr. Spatscheck we have found an ideal addition to our team who is a unique gain from a professional as well as from a personal perspective.”
